This is a senior leadership role designed for an experienced compliance professional who can operate independently, influence stakeholders at all levels of the business, and provide strategic oversight across multiple jurisdictions and product lines. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining regulatory readiness, strengthening compliance frameworks, supporting licensing initiatives, and ensuring the organisation continues to scale responsibly in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in crypto and fintech compliance, a proven track record of regulatory engagement, and the confidence to deputise for the Chief Compliance Officer when required.

Act as deputy to the Chief Compliance Officer, providing leadership and decision-making support across the compliance function.
Oversee compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions and regulated entities.
Conduct reviews of existing compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, and controls.
Identify regulatory and operational compliance risks and implement remediation plans.
Lead or support licensing projects, regulator interactions, inspections, and remediation programmes.
Develop and enhance compliance policies, control frameworks, and risk management processes.
Partner with Sales, Legal, Operations, Product, Fraud, and Customer Support teams to embed effective compliance practices.
Provide guidance and mentorship to compliance team members.
Present compliance updates and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Monitor and implement regulatory developments affecting the business.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of senior AML and compliance experience within regulated cryptocurrency, fintech, payments, or financial services environments.
Strong knowledge of European AML/CFT regulations, including AMLD, AMLR, MiCA, Travel Rule, and related requirements.
Experience engaging directly with regulators, audits, inspections, licensing projects, or regulatory remediation programmes.
Demonstrated success building or significantly improving compliance frameworks, policies, and control environments.
Previous leadership experience managing, mentoring, or acting as deputy to senior compliance leadership.
Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence executive teams and business functions constructively.
Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
Exposure to global regulatory frameworks including the UK, Australia, North America, or other international markets.
Knowledge of DORA, PSD2, or financial crime advisory practices.
Hands-on experience using blockchain analytics and KYT solutions such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, or TRM Labs.
Professional certifications including CAMS, ICA, CGSS, or equivalent credentials.
Ideal Candidate:
Strategic and commercially aware, balancing regulatory requirements with business objectives.
Confident operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
Comfortable representing the compliance function internally and externally.
Calm and decisive when navigating complex regulatory situations.
Collaborative and influential, viewed as a trusted business partner rather than a blocker.
Passionate about building scalable compliance frameworks that enable sustainable growth.
Success Measures:
Strengthened compliance frameworks and improved operational effectiveness.
Successful delivery of regulatory and licensing initiatives.
Increased audit readiness and reduced compliance risk exposure.
Enhanced collaboration between Compliance and business functions.
Recognised as a trusted deputy capable of leading the compliance function when required.
