A leading global fintech company operating in the payments and digital assets sector - are seeking a Technical Product Owner Lead to oversee product ownership standards, delivery quality, and team development across multiple product streams. This role combines hands-on technical product ownership with people leadership, making it ideal for an experienced product professional who can drive outcomes while coaching and developing others.
The successful candidate will own a core B2C product stream while leading a team of Technical Product Owners responsible for multiple product initiatives. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Compliance, and Executive stakeholders, this individual will ensure high-quality requirements, strong backlog discipline, and successful product delivery across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Technical Product Owners.
Manage performance, career development, hiring, and onboarding activities.
Establish and maintain standards for TRDs, BRDs, UML documentation, backlog management, and acceptance criteria.
Act as an escalation point for delivery risks, blockers, and cross-functional challenges.
Own the backlog and technical requirements for a core B2C product stream.
Write and review Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), and UML sequence diagrams.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, and Compliance teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Drive backlog refinement, sprint readiness, and delivery quality.
Identify process improvements and increase product team effectiveness across multiple streams.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner, Senior Product Owner, or Technical Product Manager.
Previous experience directly managing Product Owners, Technical Product Owners, or Business Analysts.
Strong hands-on experience writing TRDs, BRDs, UML sequence diagrams, and technical requirements.
Strong Business Analysis background including process mapping, gap analysis, and requirements gathering.
Proven backlog ownership experience within a product-led organisation.
Experience within fintech, payments, digital assets, or another regulated technical environment.
Strong stakeholder management across technical, business, and executive audiences.
Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Fluent English communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
Cryptocurrency, blockchain, exchange, wallet, or digital asset products.
MiCA, VASP, PCI DSS, or regulatory framework exposure.
Experience building or scaling Product Ownership functions.
API-first or platform product ownership experience.
CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, CBAP, or equivalent certifications.
Experience within high-growth fintech or scale-up environments.
Team Scope:
Direct management of 4 Technical Product Owners.
Oversight across 7 product streams.
Ownership of product delivery standards and backlog quality across the organisation.
